Archaeological Sites in the Karlovy Vary Region
One might think that there are few archaeological sites of interest in the Karlovy Vary Region. The basin of the Ohře River however, has belonged among the more hospitable areas suitable for human settlement since prehistoric times. Join us on our journey exploring the selected traces of human existence in our region that today often seem to be mere dikes, mounds, terrain faults and cavities even though they are actually the remains of primeval or medieval fortifications, dwellings and burial grounds.
