It is namely the abundance and the diversity of the waters that enhance the distinct character of our region lying at the foothills of Krušné hory (Ore Mountains). There is hardly another region in our country where you can experience an exhilarating ride through the churning white-waters of the ever-changing Teplá River or, on the other hand, enjoy a romantic cruise offering breathtaking views of rocky valleys and forests of the Ohře River. Presently, the countryside opens to render a marvellous view of the waterworks made by man, whether of dam reservoirs capturing water from the mountains, the historical Blatenský vodní příkop (Blatná Ditch), a manmade water ditch winding along the hilltops of the Ore Mountains, or of its longer sister, Dlouhá stoka (Long Ditch), built across a part of Slavkovský les (Slavkov Forest) and flowing from the dark and mysterious Kladská Pond, hidden in a peat bog which was aptly named Tajga (Taiga).
Exhausted from your travels, you may take advantage of another precious water resource of our region – the mineral springs in the world-renowned spa triangle that have been restoring people's health for centuries.
