The town of Kynzvart is one of the five important spa centres in the Karlovy Vary region located within the historical triangle of West Bohemian spas. It is situated in the foothills of the Slavkov Forest at an altitude of 730 metres above sea level. The spa quarter situated on the western slope is the main landmark of the town. The spa originated here thanks to the natural resources of the local mineral springs and the healthy climate.
For about one hundred years, till 1950, the spa was used for treating adults only. Nowadays, Lazne Kynzvart is the most important spa town in the Czech Republic for the treatment of non specific disorders of the air passages and some skin diseases of children from the age of 2 till the age of 15.
Since 2007, when the Children's Spa Establishment Miramonte ceased to exist, the indication spectrum was enlarged to include nephrourological disorders. Children and teenagers are accepted for comprehensive spa treatment for these indications.
Children have lessons for 2 - 5 hours a day studying their main subjects and foreign languages. There are also specialised teachers working with children have dyslexia, dysgraphia or other learning needs. Teaching happens in small groups, or often even one to one in order to ensure continuance of the teaching plans used at their home schools and the spa school is in close contact with these.
Another important landmark of the town is the newly reconstructed Renaissance manor house Kynzvart with its extensive park.
