|The crest of the Karlovy Vary Region The crest was approved on 12 April 2001 by the Board of Representatives of the Karlovy Vary Region and on 30 May 2001 by the Sub-Committee for Heraldry and Vexillology of the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic. The red-blue French escutcheon is divided into quarters; the first quarter depicts the Bohemian Lion, the second quarter shows a golden fountain spouting silver jetting water, the third quarter portrays crossed mining hammers with golden handles above two crossed golden twigs while the remaining quarter depicts a silver crowned two-tailed lion golden armour arising from three wavelike silver beams.
||The flag of the Karlovy Vary Region The appearance of the Regional flag stems from the approved crest of the Karlovy Vary Region. The red and blue quartered flag: the upper hoist square depicts the Bohemian lion, the lower fly square shows white crossed mining hammers with yellow handles above two crossed twigs; the upper fly square shows a yellow fountain spouting white jetting water and in the lower fly square there are seven horizontal strips, alternating in red and white in 7:1:1:1:1:1:1 proportion. The white strips are wave like and arising from the uppermost strip is a white two-tailed crowned lion in golden armour. The sheet aspect is 2:3.

The logo symbolizes the thermal spring and spouting jetting water as symbols of the spa region; the logo is also a stylization of the letter K and is in colours of the Karlovy Vary Region – red and blue. The logo of the Karlovy Vary Region has been designed by the graphic designer and printmaker, Regina Sedláčková from the Most based Aa advertising agency. The logo will appear on gifts and promotional merchandise of the Karlovy Vary Region, at exhibition stands of the Region at fairs, planned information brochures for regional inhabitants and for promotional purposes.
The decree on the assignment of the crest and the flag dated 14 August 2001
Act No. 129/2000 Coll.
- The region may have a crest and a flag.
- The Chairman of the Chamber of Deputies may assign the crest or flag to a Region without the crest or the flag based upon its proposal.
- Upon the request of the Region, the Chairman of the Chamber of Deputies may change the crest or the flag.
- The Regions and organizational units in addition to any legal entities established or incorporated by the Regions may use the crest and flag of the Region. The approval of the region is requested for the use of the regional crest by other entities. No approval is required for use of the Regional flag.
